In the spirit of embracing new opportunities in 2024, itsme® announced earlier this year its successful expansion into 4 additional European countries. Citizens in Ireland, Italy, Estonia and Portugal can now create their itsme® account, marking the start of an exciting year for our secure identity solution. Beyond these 4 countries and in its ongoing quest to provide secure digital identity solutions across Europe, itsme® has also opened its application in France, with the UK and Spain planned as the next destinations. This expansion underlines its commitment to meeting the growing demand for trusted identity solutions, moving beyond its roots in BeNeLux to serve a wider European audience. They are actively preparing the ground to technically open up the application to other Nordic countries.

Residents of newly opened (and upcoming) European countries can create their itsme® account through a user-friendly registration process, requiring no specialized equipment and accepting various forms of identification, including passports, eIDs, or residence permits, for 100% digital, easy and secure registration. With each new country added, itsme® users can instantly use the application’s itsme® Sign function to securely sign documents. The Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) has the same legal value as a handwritten signature, and integrates seamlessly with leading European and international document platforms.
