Sometimes a downloaded file can cause problems when converted to PDF/a format.

First of all, check that the file name does not contain any special characters.
Accents, apostrophes, numbers, etc. are all characters that generally cause problems, so limit yourself to letters and spaces.

Regarding your document, it is also possible that:

  • the information relating to a specific font is missing
  • it contains an element that is not correctly interpreted (e.g.: merge field / to be filled in)
  • it has a page format that is out of standard or combines different formats (e.g.: A4 with A1 plans)

In this case, we recommend that you print the file to a ‘pdf printer’ in the same format (e.g. A4) in order to generate a new print-type pdf file, which will flatten and eliminate these exotic elements.
